Chelsea Nix (USA) and Mariano Cortez (Argentina) are a husband and wife photography team that specialize in travel photography and have been recognized and published National Geographic. The couple created a photography exhibition called THE STRING PROJECT winning one of the worlds largest international art competitions, ArtPrize. The project is a series of portraits that link together with the same simple string held by people from around the world. When exhibited, all their photos link forming one continuous line, a visible representation symbolizing an invisible connection. It is both an art and a social experience as the photographs highlight our similarities, sharing the idea that we are all connected.
“We are all part of this world, sharing the same feelings: we love, we suffer, we cry, we laugh,” said Nix. “The project highlights some of the most valuable things humans crave in life: respect, hope, peace, love, integrity… authentic and genuine interactions.”
